2011 VMO Trip #2

In July 2011 members of UC Berkeley Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO) embarked on the second trip of 2011 to Vietnam. Along with a few members of Aid to Children Without Parents (ACWP), these selfless souls aim to assist with basic medical exams, dental care, and medical education to a few impoverished villages of central and southern Vietnam.

Volunteers for Medical Outreach

In 2008, a group of highly dedicated UC Berkeley students founded Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO) in order provide free basic medical care to disadvantaged populations in Vietnam. VMO members fundraise and collect donations throughout the academic year to buy medicines and medical supplies needed to run mobile clinics, hepatitis B vaccination clinics, and corrective surgery programs held each summer in Vietnam. In addition, VMO members assist doctors during clinical sessions as well as teach basic health lessons to school children.
